The emotional pain after a breakup can be overwhelming. You feel terrible, sad or depressed. You long to get back with your ex and the question "What should I do to get my ex back?" will be bugging you all the time.

A quick search online will throw up many websites, books and forums design to answer the question what should I do to get my ex back. However, common sense and common courtesy can go a long way to help you make a difference after the breakup and help the healing.

What do I mean by that? Simple. There are two things you must never do if you are asking "What should I do to get my ex back?" It makes absolute sense if you think about it.

First of all, never ever play games.

This is a real goner for your relationship if you do it. Many people resort to playing games after a breakup because it makes them feel powerful. You might try to make them think that you don't care or you care more than you really do. Yes you will feel good at first with this manipulation but that feeling will not last for long.

You will soon come to the conclusion that all that tricking and lying to your ex doesn't make you feel good at all. And furthermore, anything good that came out because of it initially will dramatically sour soon enough due to the lie.

Now what do people do when they play games? As an example, you may pretend to date someone else or make the impression that you are in love with another person. Though this might work occasionally, often times, it only makes the breakup permanent.

Why is that so? Well it's because you don't know for sure which way the ploy will go. Your ex may want you back because they got really jealous or they may simply come to think that since you moved on so fast, you really don't love them anyway. Often you find out the result too late to do anything about it.

The second fatal mistake is being mean and nasty.

Typically after a breakup, the anger can be so high that we can be more vicious than we normally are. If you become mean to your ex, you might just kiss your relationship goodbye forever. However since you are still asking "What should I do to get my ex back?" it means that you still cares and is ready to forgive.

Just picture yourself as your ex and think about the way you have been acting. Would you want to spend time with the person you are looking at? Or would you dread the thought of getting back together? What actions have you taken that will make you want nothing to do with yourself? You see, you have to work hard and be in control of your anger so that you can be that person your ex will miss.

So "What should I do to get my ex back?" Remember you must be in your best behavior so as to remind your ex about the person they fell in love with in the first place. If you make your good points stand out again, you stand a better chance of getting back together with your ex.

These are just the beginning steps in winning your Ex back. They are the initial steps I followed when I lost the love of my life. And frankly these aren't my original ideas. I turned to T 'Dub' Jackson when I had no idea of how to get my true love back.

T 'Dub' authored a simple, down to earth step by step plan called The Magic Of Making Up. And you know, it worked like magic for us. Now we are more in love than ever.
